Lincoln Holding Facility Releases
The official record supports describing the Shoshone location as a Sheriff booking-and-holding facility, not as a conventional full-time county jail. A person can be booked there, held for a short period, released under lawful authority, or transported elsewhere. The county website does not state the current release door, release hours, property procedure, holding limit, or receiving jail.
Community release can follow bond, recognizance, dismissal, citation, time served, or another court-authorized event. Departure can also mean movement to a contract county jail, commitment to the Idaho Department of Correction, or transfer under a warrant or detainer. A detainer is authority or a request from another agency to assume custody. Ask the Sheriff for the recorded destination and receiving agency before calling the event a release to the community.
“Released” is system-specific. The end of Lincoln County custody may be the start of custody at a contract jail, IDOC, or another authority.
Confirm Lincoln Facility Releases
Call the Sheriff and identify the person with a full name, birth date, event date, and case number when known. Ask whether the recorded event was physical release in Shoshone or transport. If transport occurred, ask which facility accepted the person on that date. The answer controls the next request because the physical holder may maintain the release-desk entry, photograph, property receipt, and later destination.
- Contact the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and identify the specific booking or arrest.
- Ask for the custody outcome, timestamp, disposition, destination, and receiving agency as maintained.
- Search Idaho iCourt for the bond, dismissal, judgment, commitment, or other order.
- If a contractor accepted custody, request that jail’s acceptance, housing, transfer, and physical release entries.
- If the person entered state jurisdiction, use the IDOC Resident/Client Search.
A court order may explain why custody should change, but its timestamp may not be the exit time. Staff may still check other warrants, return property, or arrange transport. Match the court event to the facility log for the strongest confirmation.
Lincoln Facility Record Request
The Sheriff public-records form asks for requester details, an incident date, case number, and a specific record description. It offers delivery by email, mail, supplied medium, or pickup. The form says the office will notify the requester if it cannot finish within three days. It gives no fixed release-record or booking-photo fee.
| Record item | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Booking and release timestamps | Shows the event recorded by Lincoln rather than only the court date. |
| Holding agencies and locations | Identifies every office that may hold part of the custody trail. |
| Transfer sheet and destination | Separates transport from return to the community. |
| Release disposition or authority | Connects the exit to the maintained bond, court, or custody reason. |
| Detainer or receiving agency | Shows whether another authority assumed custody. |
| Booking photo and property acknowledgment | Requests related items if they exist and are releasable. |
Request existing records, not a new explanation. Narrow the date range and ask for native electronic copies when possible. If some material is exempt, request the separable public portions and a written denial that identifies the legal basis for anything withheld.

Lincoln Holding Facility History
A January 1993 Idaho Attorney General letter provides the clearest official description of Lincoln’s arrangement. It said the county no longer maintained a full-time jail, held people for booking and transport, contracted with Gooding County, and expected to use Cassia County as Gooding space became limited. The letter also stressed Lincoln’s responsibility to accept and transport its prisoners.
That document explains why a Lincoln County arrest can create a two-agency custody trail. It does not prove that Gooding or Cassia is the current contractor. No reviewed 2026 county page names the receiving jail, and the fact that Gooding operates a jail today does not establish an active Lincoln contract. Facility arrangements can change with capacity, classification, and other holds.
Use the dated letter to understand the split record trail, then ask the Sheriff which facility served the person on the date in question. No successful facility image appears in the manifest, so no unrelated screenshot is substituted.
Lincoln Release or Transfer
A local exit can produce a Sheriff release entry and a court order. A contract-jail transfer should produce Lincoln transport data plus the receiving jail’s acceptance record. A felony commitment may lead to an IDOC record with “In custody,” “In community,” or “Discharged” status. Federal or immigration transfer requires the receiving federal system, not the county page, for later custody status.
| Lincoln outcome | Best next check | What it does not prove |
|---|---|---|
| Local community release | Sheriff exit entry plus iCourt order | That all other cases or holds ended |
| Contract-jail transport | Destination and receiving jail log | Community release |
| IDOC commitment | IDOC number, status, and sentencing case | That departure from Lincoln ended state custody |
| Other-agency transfer | Named receiving authority | Release by that later authority |
Make a dated custody chain instead of forcing all events into one “release date.” Arrest, booking, court action, transfer, state admission, release to supervision, and full discharge can all have different dates.
Lincoln IDOC Release Search
IDOC applies only after state jurisdiction begins. Search results list the IDOC number, name, birth year, and status. An “In community” record means active state supervision and may show Released to Supervision, a supervising district, and Sentence Satisfaction Date. It is not the same as full discharge. A “Discharged” result followed by a date is the clearer terminal state-sentence label.
Parole Eligibility Date is a threshold for consideration, not a promised release. A Commission decision can provide a tentative date, but later status is needed to confirm physical departure. Match the IDOC number, birth year, sentencing county, and court case rather than selecting a common name alone.
Lincoln Court Release Evidence
Lincoln County District Court and iCourt can preserve the legal event after a person leaves a facility display. Useful entries include bond and release orders, dismissals, judgments, probation orders, commitments, amended judgments, and sentence satisfaction entries. Some documents may require the clerk or courthouse kiosk.
The court file and custody log answer different questions. The court establishes legal action. The Sheriff or contractor records actual movement. When dates conflict, arrange them as a chronology rather than assuming one is wrong.
Lincoln Facility Photo Records
No official Lincoln roster or app was found, so there is no verified online booking-photo channel. Ask for the booking photograph as a separate item on the Sheriff request. If a contractor made the booking or final release, ask that agency what photograph it maintains and what exemption or fee applies. Do not borrow a nearby county’s policy.
An IDOC photograph or registry image covers a different record and population. Registry images apply only to registrants. U.S. Marshals prisoner photographs are not released to the public merely to fill an information gap. The source and jurisdiction should stay attached to every image.
Lincoln Facility Search Limits
No public source confirms the present contract jail, internal retention, release hours, weekend procedure, property return, or an internal 24-hour or 72-hour report. Those are unknown, not absent. A direct, purpose-neutral inquiry to the Sheriff is the correct update path.
Identity matching matters. Use booking or case numbers when available, then compare full name, middle name, birth date, event date, and agency identifiers. A blank search result can mean wrong spelling, an alias, a moved record, a time-window limit, sealing, or the wrong jurisdiction. It is never a status by itself.
The Lincoln County released inmate search and records hub connects these local records to court, IDOC, VINE, BOP, and ICE when the custody trail leaves the holding facility.
